Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Advising

Once you are accepted into the Mechanical Engineering Department, your advising home is ME 1120, the Mechanical Engineering Student Advising Office.

You must meet with a mechanical engineering faculty advisor at least once per academic year. (If you do not, a department stamp hold (DS hold) will prevent you from registering for your next semester.) You can schedule an advising appointment online at: meadvising.appointments.umn.edu.

The faculty advisors look forward to talking with you to help you achieve your academic and career goals.

Please try to sign up for an advising appointment early in the semester, as all available slots can fill as the opening day for registration approaches. If you have an active DS hold at the time registration opens, the hold will delay your registration until you have met with a faculty advisor.

A department hold stamp will always appear on your APAS report. Check the date on it. If it is dated for some future semester, it will not interfere with your registration.
